LISTEN: aespa Showcases Their Individual Colors With “SYNK : PARALLEL LINE” Album

On October 9th KST, aespa finally released the official versions of their solo tracks!

The group’s special digital single SYNK: PARALLEL LINE features the songs the members performed as special solo stages during their “2024 aespa LIVE TOUR – SYNK : PARALLEL LINE” concert.

Karina‘s “UP” is a hip-hop dance track that exudes a smooth confident aura. She penned the Korean lyrics herself while Slow Rabbit, Morgan Connie Smith, Taneisha Jackson, Sofia Quinn, PXPILLON, Emma-Lee Andersson, BB ELLIOT, and Stella Jones composed the song.

Giselle‘s “Dopamine” is an R&B track depicting the conflicting feelings of hiding infatuation behind a facade. She participated in writing and composing the piece alongside Shintaro Yasuda, Pau Cerrilla, and Paige Garabito.

Ningning‘s “Bored!” is an R&B dance track about a romance that blazed passionately at the beginning but eventually burned itself out into something unimpressive. She co-wrote the lyrics with Hilda Stenmalm and Bård Bonsaksen while Dom Rivinius, Hilda Stenmalm, Bård Bonsaksen, and TMM composed the song.

Winter‘s “Spark” is an EDM-infused song that describes the anticipation that comes with a love that is about to bloom. She wrote and composed the track with Frankie Day (THE HUB), R. Tee, VACK, and NOYEAH.

aespa’s “SYNK : PARALLEL LINE” is their second world tour and follows the release of the group’s first full studio album, Armageddon. It kicked off in Seoul last June, with an expected run of over 40 shows in Asia, Oceania, North America, and Europe.

Katherine grew up watching Korean dramas and other Asian shows. Although she first learned to appreciate Korean music through OSTs broadcasted locally, it wasn’t until 2011 that she properly paid attention to K-pop. She holds a fondness for SEVENTEEN and NCT and would recommend (G)I-DLE, Dreamcatcher, XG, and KISS OF LIFE to whoever cared to listen.
