SidusHQ, agency of Kim Woo Bin, has given fans an update on his health status.
On July 16th, the label shared a photo on their official Instagram account to wish the actor a happy 30th birthday. “We congratulate you on your 30th birthday while we are waiting for you to return one day as if nothing happened.”
Fans began to comment on the photo and ask when the talented actor would be able to begin working again. In response, the label clarified, “Even when cancer treatments are finished, it takes a long time for the [patient to make a] full recovery. It’s difficult to update on his condition at the moment. There are no concrete plans for his return yet.” They also stated, “Please [continue to] wait and we will share good news.”
The label gave an example of his health status after he finished his first round of chemotherapy, “His health has improved enough for him to begin exercising.”
On May 24th, 2017, SidusHQ revealed the news that Kim Woo Bin had been diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer. The actor noticed some issues with his health and after becoming concerned, he decided to go to the doctor. It was then that he was diagnosed with cancer.
Nasopharyngeal cancer is a disease in which cancer cells form in the tissues of the nasopharynx (the upper part of the throat, behind the nose). He began an immediate hiatus from work in order to start treatment.
