Casting continues for the upcoming movie “Emergency Declaration.”
On March 29th, it was revealed that Kim Nam Gil will be joining Song Kang Ho, Lee Byung Hun, and Jeon Do Yeon — who were previously confirmed for the project — for the upcoming movie about an airplane disaster. The film is touted as an “airborne blockbuster” and tells the story of the people onboard an aircraft when it is forced to declare an emergency after a terrorist incident threatens them all.
The film is directed by Han Jae Rim, the mind behind movies like “The King,” “The Face Reader,” and “The Show Must Go On.” This will mark the reunion project of Director Han with Song Kang Ho (“Parasite”) after they worked together on “The Face Reader.” In addition, Lee Byung Hun (“G.I. Joe,” “I Saw The Devil”) will reunite with Song Kang Ho for their fourth project together, previously starring with each other in “The Good, The Bad, The Weird,” “Age of Shadows,” and “Joint Security Area.”
Meanwhile, Jeon Do Yeon (“Secret Sunshine,” “The Housemaid”) adds to the star power of the film as an experienced and respected actress, even winning “Best Actress” at the Cannes Film Festival in 2007. With the newest addition of Kim Nam Gil (“The Pirates,” “Memoir of a Murderer,” “The Fiery Priest”) to the film, it becomes one of the most star-studded Korean movies in recent years, heightening the anticipation of the project even more.
The movie will be brought to theaters by Showbox and is co-produced by C-Jes Entertainment.
