Every year, K-pop fans in the U.S. flock to KCON NY and LA to partake in several amazing days of the convention, concerts, fan meetings, and more! This year, however, fans were in for an extra surprise!
During the recent 2019 KCON in NY, Kevin Woo— former U-KISS member turned solo artist— stopped by the McDonald’s booth at the KCON convention to surprise fans! The charming K-pop star delighted those at the booth by spending time meeting and interacting with fans. Also in attendance as a special influencer partner of McDonald’s was none other than online personality and Buzzfeed star Steven Lim!
During their time at the McDonald’s booth, Kevin and Steven had fun with the audience as they tested fans’ K-pop knowledge with rounds of trivia. The lucky winners received a variety of prizes that ranged from KCON concert tickets to McDonald’s branded prizes. Crowds of fans flocked around the McDonald’s stage-like booth in order to see some of their favorite celebrities up close and personal!
At the booth, fans were also able to play the retro-style arcade games, as well as take a photo to create their own K-pop album cover!
Last but not least, Kevin and Steven were able to meet the main man himself— Ronald McDonald! They all shook hands and laughed good-naturedly during their meeting. The famous McDonald’s man was also there to treat Kevin to a McDelivery of the new Worldwide Favorites menu.
For those who missed out on the event, Steven Lim will also be present at KCON LA, so make sure to stop by the McDonald’s booth for a chance to see this popular social media star in person.
As a long time supporter of KCON, this surprise wasn’t the only special thing McDonald’s provided for fans during the convention in NY! They also presented the KCON live stream all weekend so that fans who weren’t able to be there in person could also participate in the red carpet events and concerts.
