ZB Label soloist AleXa continues to expand her reach by being the first female K-pop artist to present at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards!
The Billboard Music Awards is held annually by Billboard, a publication that has been in business since 1894 and transitioned from an advertising company to become the hefty music and entertainment media powerhouse that they are today. Since 1990 (except from 2007 to 2010) awards are given away each year to outstanding artists that have made their mark in the industry.
Prior to the main event, AleXa greeted fans and the media alike on the red carpet before posing with other artists like Annita, Becky G, DJ Khaled, Doja Cat, and more. Her appearance at the awards show comes straight after she emerged victorious in the final round of NBC‘s “American Song Contest” where she went up against 55 other competitors, each representing their home states.
Her representative single for the show, “Wonderland,” was streamed over three million times online and pushed the singer up the ranks to become the fourth most played K-pop artist on the U.S. radio. The song was written by Andreas Carlsson, Bekuh Boom, Moa “Cazzi Opeia” Carlebecker, and Ellen Berg with Albin Nordqvist as the producer.
AleXa started off as the K-pop hopeful Alex Christine who found footing in the industry after competing and winning in both seasons of Soompi’s “Rising Legends” (2016 and 2017). She signed with ZB Label in 2018 and represented the agency in Mnet‘s “Produce 48,” a popular idol audition and survival show which aimed to create a project group composed of a line-up picked by the audience itself.
AleXa made her solo debut in October 2019 with “Bomb,” intriguing the public with a futuristic A.I. concept backed by the visual creations of production company Zanybros. Keep up with AleXa by following her official social media accounts on Youtube, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, and Facebook!
