K-pop Cover Contest And Concert Anticipated In This Year’s “Korean American SE Sports Festival” In Atlanta

Held since 1981 and with partner associations hailing from five states (AL, GA, TN, SC, and NC), the “Korean American SE Sports Festival” aims to create a unified space for the Korean-American community through a celebration of culture and sportsmanship!

This year, the event announced that a K-pop Cover Contest will be held on June 10th (Friday), at 2 p.m. in Norcross, Georgia (outside of Atlanta). Participants from both dance and vocal categories were given time to send in their video applications from April 4th to May 31st as part of the contest’s preliminary screenings. Selected teams and solo acts will then proceed to the main competition. The panel of judges is composed of musician and solo artist DOE, as well as Director Aram Han, Director Sehui Kim, and Kisung Hong from Bornstar Training Center.

Winners will receive substantial cash prizes and perform alongside other musical acts at the K-pop Concert arranged by the same organizers, The Korean American Association of Greater Atlanta. They will also get a rare opportunity to be invited to the Bornstar Training Center in South Korea, where they will train for three to six months. The agency is one of the biggest acting, dancing, and singing dance academies in the country with 14 branches across South Korea, China, the USA, Indonesia, and Myanmar. The institution has trained many talented idols in the K-pop industry.

On July 11th, a K-pop concert will be held on the second night at 7:00 p.m. at the same location. A talented line-up of artists, including singer and judge from the previous night, DOE, will show great performances to close out this festival in the greater Atlanta area.
