“K-Community Challenge” Invites You To Perform With BTOB, LIGHTSUM, And Weeekly

The Korean Foundation For International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE) has kicked off its “K-Community Challenge” for 2022!

KOFICE is the office in charge of cultural exchange under the South Korean government’s Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. Their goal is to promote K-culture to the world, and the event invites people to learn about traditional Korean arts and share their own performance videos.

Winning teams from the respective categories will get the chance to perform with K-pop idol groups such as BTOB, LIGHTSUM, and Weeekly. It will take place during the “K-Community Festival” in Korea this November.

Anyone with a passion for Korean culture can enter and applicants will choose one genre of traditional arts (from a total of four) to learn and perform. The art styles to choose from include Korean Fan Dance (Buchaechum), Korean Folk Song (Minyo), Taekwondo Dance (Taekwonmu), and Korean Traditional Clothes (Hanbok). Each genre showcases a different side of Korea’s rich traditional arts history.

Registration for the challenge ends on September 12th at 12 a.m. KST. Meanwhile, more details can be found on the K-Community Festival official website.  You can also visit the KOFICE homepage if you’d like to learn more about what they do.
