Justin Park Teams Up With 5A Labelmate Zane Taylor For New Song “Sunset Years”

On September 2nd, Korean-American R&B singer-songwriter Justin Park will unveil his latest release “Sunset Years,” a collaboration with their new 5A Label cohort, Zane Taylor! The song is deeply personal to both artists, who wrote it together within minutes alongside producer Karma

“Sunset Years” is a song about weathering incredible hardships. Our goal was to create a record that gave a sense of “Everything’s going to be alright.” Our reflections were melancholy. The title “Sunset Years” gives reflection on this simple message.

When Justin and I met up to write Sunset Years, we’d both been going through some serious things, but we also felt good about where we are as people. “Sunset Years” was meant to give the listener that balance of feeling like the weight of the whole world is on your shoulders, but you still got it.

Get To Know Justin Park

Since his 2018 debut with the self-penned album Places Like Home, Justin Park has received recognition from other artists and rave reviews from major publications for his work. Subsequently, the LA native has been featured on “Billboard USA,” “Digital Journal,” “Genius,” “Billboard Korea,” “Billboard Radio China,” and more.

One of the most notable instances for K-pop fans was when Park’s “On the Low” received a special shoutout from BTSJungkook. The idol shared on Instagram that he was listening to the song last December which led fans to check out the track. In addition, Park’s cover of Pink Sweat$‘s “Honesty” gained so much attention that he was able to meet Pink himself.

As an international writer with MRMG, he has participated in creating K-pop hits such as B.A.P‘s “That’s My Jam” which he co-wrote and co-composed. He also produced, cast, and directed the music video for the song “Mi Vida” from his most recent album, I Can See The Stars From Here.

Park has done multiple North American tours under his belt that include close friend and collaborator Amber Liu (who directed his “Like We Used To” music video) as well as shows under LiveNation Korea with renowned Korean rapper BewhY. Park also made his way to Seoul in 2019 where he performed at EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival) with acclaimed DJ and producer HOLLY.

Justin Park will be soon set foot on stage as the opening act of K-pop artist JUNNY’s September shows in Los Angeles, San Fransisco, and Seattle as part of the soloist’s North American tour. For information about the shows, you can visit Unbound Entertainment and Modo Live.

Meet Zane Taylor

Rapper, songwriter, producer, and audio engineer Zane Taylor is the newest artist to join 5A Label’s roster! He is the co-founder of the independent music collective Planet Love. The production company aspires to follow the late U.S rapper Nipsey Hussle’s “All Money In” legacy which valued giving back to and serving the community.

Zane’s music blurs the lines of any genre. His style is significantly influenced by his artistic family’s small-town musical background and blends it with the energy of LA where he grew up. With years of immersion in the rich cultural diversity of his neighborhood, Zane had a unique class of role models that inspired him to follow this path. Speaking about “Sunset Years” Zane touches on his relationship with music in general.

As I get older I believe more and more that life is constantly moving towards balance, so I’ve always gravitated to music and art that do a good job of conveying multiple ends of an emotional spectrum simultaneously.
