Forbes has released their “30 Under 30 Asia” list for 2017. Check out which of your favorite celebrities made the list of influential Asian celebrities.
First of we have singer, actress, and designer Jessica Jung! Forbes gives a broad overview of her career, mentioning her past as a member of Girl’s Generation and her fashion brand Blanc & Eclare. They also noted that she is one of 10 most-followed Kpop stars on Instagram.
Also on the list is Korean-American singer Eric Nam! He was noted as “one of the most recognized names and faces in Korea’s entertainment industry.” He is the go-to for international interviews having most recently interviewed stars Emma Watson, Chris Pratt, Benedict Cumberbatch, Eddie Redmayne, and more. He was also “the founding director of Kollaboration’s Boston chapter, a nonprofit that promotes Asian-American talent across the U.S.” No wonder he made the list!
Jay Park, Korean-American performer, made the list as well. They spotlighted his most recent achievements including his “Artist of the Year Award” at the Korean Hip Hop Awards and “Musician of the Year Award” at the Korean Music Awards. 2017 seems to be a great year for Jay Park.
Samuel Okyere was also named. Forbes noted that he is “one of the most influential foreign entertainers in Korean show business.” They touch on his transition from exchange student to panelist on variety shows and his efforts to “change local misconceptions about Africans.” His spot on the list is well deserved.
Lastly we have Kris Wu, former member of EXO. Forbes noted that he is the first Chinese actor to attend the prestigious Met Gala and acted in The Mermaid, China’s top grossing film of all time!
