Jay Park is creating a new music label with American producer Cha Cha Malone!
On May 12th KST, it was announced that the former 2PM singer and AOMG founder would be opening a new global music label to focus on both American and Korean hip-hop artists. In a short interview, the artist stated: “If an artist is charismatic, works hard, and has a good head on their shoulders, I’d like to provide an opportunity for people with those traits. The effort is to try and connect this music and culture globally, to spread this positive influence and movement worldwide. With that philosophy, we decided to launch H1GHR Music.”
H1GHR Music Records has already been formed and is debuting their first artists this week at the Upstream Music Festival in Seattle, Jay Park’s hometown. Some of the Korean artists are Sik-K, PH-1, Groovy Room, and Woogie, while some of the American-based artists are Yultron, Avatar Darko, Raz Simone, Jarv Dee, and more.
Cha Cha Malone and Jay Park first met back in Seattle as part of the Art of Movement b-boy crew. Malone later began working with Park at AOMG as including Red Velvet, U-KISS, Shinhwa, KARA, B1A4, Brian Joo, and many more.
