H.U.B is embarking on their first U.S. tour tomorrow, with multiple shows planned across the country! But while the group has already gained a lot of fans since their debut in February of 2017, many people might still be wondering what’s so special about H.U.B.
H.U.B stands for “Hope You Bounce,” a nod to their desire to produce fun, upbeat music for their fans. The group is made up of five members and goes far beyond the ultra-girly, sweet pop sound that is so prevalent with girl groups today. Each one of the members has an impressive list of accomplishments and were already experienced when they came together to form the group. Although they debuted with four members, a fifth member was recently added.
The group first came to the attention of the public with their pre-release track, “The Times,” in November of 2016. A few months later, H.U.B made their official debut with the digital single, “Girl Gang.” With a funky street style and solid vocals and rap skills, H.U.B definitely has something extra to offer fans of girl groups.
Leader Gracie is a skilled vocalist and musician— playing multiple instruments and excelling at music composition as well. She also specializes in English and even achieved a perfect score on the TOEIC. Talk about a smart young lady!
Member Rui is from Japan and has gained a lot of fans for her gorgeous, model-like looks. She is a former member of the girl group N-Bulance and quickly captured netizens’ eyes with her skills during ISAC 2017. In addition, she released her first solo single in 2016 entitled “Exciting.” She is also preparing to release a new single this month.
Yuem also excels at music! She plays four different instruments and is already a published composer as she wrote H.U.B’s pre-release track, “The Times.” She is a budding actress as well, already acting in MVs and a web drama.
Lim Hyoseun is the newest addition to the group. A former member of Kiwi Band, Hyoseun gained attention for her appearance on the first season of the hit show “Produce 101.” Her specialities are dancing and rap, so she makes a great addition to the team.
Keina is the lead rapper for the group, as well as the maknae. She enjoys choreographing dances and participating in sports such as boxing! She was also a popular child actress and appeared in multiple TV shows and films.
H.U.B is currently touring the U.S. for their first “Girl Gang” tour and have many special guests joining their lineup, including YouTubers JRE and Kenny and artists JC Park, Salv, Uzuhan, and TK Park. The first show is on June 30th in Miami, July 1st in Atlanta, and July 6th in Minneapolis.
