GreatGuys’ Uiyeon Lands First Acting Role As Lead In Upcoming Musical Movie “K-School”

K-pop’s tallest idol is about to make his screen debut as an actor!

It was confirmed by GreatGuys’ agency DNA Entertainment on August 27th that member Uiyeon will be starring as the male lead character in the world’s first 8K Ultra HD musical film “K-School.” The film depicts the dreams, love, and friendship of the millennial generation against the backdrop of a fashion school.

The idol star plays Teddy, a popular and talented design student attending one of the world’s top fashion schools in Korea. He treats everyone equally with kindness and consideration, despite being the fourth-generation of a large, family-owned business conglomerate or chaebol as it is termed in Korea.

Also confirmed for the drama and starring alongside Uiyeon is WJSN’s Dawon and April’s Yena who play best friends since childhood.

Sua (Dawon) is a smart girl born with a natural talent for fashion design who can’t imagine her dream due to her difficult family circumstances, and Amy (Yena) is the daughter of the design school’s chairman who is called the “Paris Hilton of Korea.”

Park Mi-kyung, CEO of production company Kang Contents who is producing “K-School,” said, “the attractive image of Uiyeon was 100% in sync with the sweet guy Teddy,” adding, “the acting ability of Uiyeon, who can freely perform in scenes that require explosive power and acting in scenes that require sweetness with various vocal colors, received high praise.”

The GreatGuys’ rapper expressed his feelings over the news stating that it “feels like a dream.” He continued to say “I will do my best to prepare for the filming, so that I don’t cause trouble for the director, writer, and other staff. I want to share this joy with Grace (GreatGuys’ fandom name) who have supported the GreatGuys for the past three years since our debut.”

“K-School” will begin filming in October and will be distributed overseas after its release in December.
