GOT7 Confirmed To Leave JYP Entertainment

On January 11th KST, JYP Entertainment confirmed that GOT7 will not be renewing their contracts and that the members are set to leave the agency.

Rumors initially broke out earlier this week with Dispatch reporting that all seven members of the group decided to stay together but were firm in their resolve to depart from the agency.

According to a statement made by the company, they held extensive discussions with the group but both parties eventually reached an agreement to not sign another contract after the current one expires.

JYP Entertainment thanked GOT7 for their contribution to the growth of K-pop and JYP while expressing their gratitude to the fans whose support was the driving force behind GOT7’s activities. The label then wrapped up their announcement with a message of encouragement for the members and the fresh future that awaits them.

GOT7 previously held a comeback with their fourth studio album Breath of Love: Last Piece in November. They are set to celebrate seven years as a team on January 16th KST.
