SISTAR is officially disbanding.
After it became known that they were in the middle of negotiating their contract renewal, fans were hopeful that there would be no issues. However, on May 22nd KST, it was announced that SISTAR would be disbanding after seven years together as a group.
Although many Kpop fans were in shock and hoping the rumors weren’t true, SISTAR confirmed the news themselves by uploading handwritten letters to their fans via their SNS accounts.
SISTAR debuted in 2010 under Starship Entertainment and has been one of the most successful girl groups in modern Kpop. They continually cranked out one hit after another, such as “Touch My Body” and “Shake It.” With a comeback planned for the end of this month and the MV already filmed, people are stunned to hear the sudden news.
According to reports, Dasom will be leaving music to pursue a career in acting and Hyorin and Soyou will continue as a solo singer. There is no news yet about members Bora, but from her letter to fans, she will now be going under full name Yoon Bo Ra, leading fans to believe will also continue acting as well.
