FNC Entertainment has revealed that CNBLUE‘s Lee Jonghyun is guilty of participating in inappropriate chats with Jung Joon Young.
On March 15th, the label released a statement that revealed that the musician, despite his earlier denials, did in fact participate in sexual group chats. They said that he was first called in as a witness and during that questioning, he was shown about 20 one-on-one messages between him and Jung Joon Young. However, they said there were no hidden camera videos mentioned or shared in those conversations. As such, they released their previous statement saying that he was found to have no connection to the chats in mention where Jung Joon Young admitted he had been filming woman unaware and showing the hidden sex cameras in chats with other celebrities and friends.
However, when Korean media released supposed screenshots of a message between Jonghyun and Joon Young, FNC once more reached out to their artist and were able to confirm parts of the rumors were true. They said that Jonghyun had indeed watched videos and made inappropriate and vulgar conversations about them. There was no word on whether these were hidden cameras where the women in question were filmed unaware. They stated that the conversations took place four to five years ago and that he had long since left the chat. They went on to state that he feels like he acted that way at the time because he lacked proper education and understanding and is now very apologetic and embarrassed about his degrading comments towards the women involved and his immoral behavior.
As such, they said he will be monitoring his words and actions much more carefully and is very apologetic as a public figure.
Although the others involved in the scandal— the previously mentioned Jung Joon Young, as well as BIGBANG’s Seungri, FTISLAND‘s Choi Jonghoon, and HIGHLIGHT‘s Yong Junhyung— already left their groups and announced they are retiring completely from the music industry, there is no word at this time of Lee Jonghyun retiring.
