FIFA World Cup Releases Video To Announce EXO’s “Power” And BTS’s “Fake Love” As Poll Winners

Recently, FIFA World Cup‘s official social media accounts held polls to ask fans which songs should be played in the World Cup Stadium. On July 9th, they released a video to officially announce the winners of the polls.

The response from participants was overwhelming with millions of fans voting for their favorites. Although non-Kpop songs were included, the two songs that stuck out the most in the competition were EXO‘s “Power” and BTS‘s “Fake Love.”

Over four different social media sites, almost 5 million people participated. The largest poll was on Twitter, with a total of 3.3 million people voting on that poll alone. On Twitter, EXO and BTS faced off against J Bavin‘s “Mi Gente” and Zedd‘s “The Middle.” Both BTS and EXO got 48% of the vote, but EXO managed to pull ahead by a difference of a few thousand votes and became the ultimate winner.

On Instagram, BTS went up against K’naan‘s “Wavin’ Flag” and Avicii‘s “Hey Brother.” Although no exact numbers were available on that poll, BTS came out as the ultimate poll. There were also other polls, including on Facebook, where non-Kpop songs were included.

As such, FIFA World Cup will be playing the four winners from each social media poll. With EXO as the Twitter winner and BTS as the Instagram winner, that means both songs will be played in the famous world sports competition.
