Less than one month after news of their dating was confirmed by their labels, EXO‘s Kai and BLACKPINK‘s Jennie have now broken up.
On January 25th, rumors broke that the two had parted ways. Although YG Entertainment stayed silent on the matter, SM Entertainment soon confirmed it was true. “It is true Kai and Jennie broke up,” stated an SM representative.
On January 1st, Dispatch revealed photos of the couple on dates, announcing that they had been dating secretly for (allegedly) several months. SM later went on to confirm the news that they were dating, but not specific timeline was given.
With two such high-profile artists and the explosive reaction from fans at their dating news, many are speculating that the public pressure was just too much for the young couple. Combined with their busy schedules, as well as Jennie’s upcoming world tour with BLACKPINK, it seems likely those are the reasons behind their split.
