The recipients of the 2017 Melon Music Awards have officially been announced!
On December 2nd KST, the year’s top Korean artists were awarded for their performance on the Melon digital music chart. Held at Seoul’s Gocheok Stadium for a second consecutive year, the event was an evening of celebration, filled with a number of incredible performances from popular acts like EXO, BTS, GFRIEND, TWICE, and IU.
The Melon Music Awards are unique as the winners of the different categories are determined in a combination of ways. While awards by genre were mostly determined by their performance on sales charts, categories like Kakao Hot Star Award and Netizen Choice Award were decided 100% by fans. However, the top awards – Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist – were determined 70% by chart performance and 30% by voting.

OST – Ailee’s “I Will Go To You Like The First Snow” (Goblin OST)
R&B/Soul – Suran’s “If I Get Drunk Today”
