BTS has achieved one of their own goals with “DNA.”
The group previously shared with fans their hope of breaking into Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart with their new song. Just like they were hoping for, the group managed to make their own dream come true when the song came in at number 85 for the week of October 7th. This marks the first time BTS has been able to break into this chart dominated mostly by Western artists. They join a small group of Kpop artists, such as PSY and CL, who have managed to achieve the same.
In addition, the group’s new album, Love Yourself: Her, also came in at number 7 on Billboard’s Top 200.
Shortly after the news was announced, BTS’s fandom, known as A.R.M.Y, began to celebrate by tweeting about the achievement and using the hashtag #BTSHOT100. The hashtag soon took over Twitter and became the number one trend worldwide as Kpop fans rejoiced in the fact that BTS’s hard work paid off.
Group leader Rap Monster also took to Twitter to express his thanks to fans and use his oft-quoted phrase, “Teamwork makes the dream work.”
Congratulations to BTS!
