On June 15th, filming for “The Swordsman” officially began after confirming the final cast lineup. The movie will follow the lives of the various Joseon swordsmen who lived in the late 1600’s.

Superstar Jang Hyuk (“Voice”) is taking the lead role of Tae Yool, and Joe Taslim, the famous Indonesian actor of Chinese descent, will be playing a villainous commander serving under the Qing dynasty.

The rest of the cast includes Jung Man Sik (“Veteran”), Choi Jin Ho (“You’re All Surrounded”), Kim Hyun Soo (“Solomon’s Perjury”), Jang Hyun Sung (“Doctor Crush”), and BTOB’s Lee Minhyuk (“Sweet, Savage Family”).

This is Minhyuk’s first movie, making this his official big screen debut. Although this is his first movie, he has proven his acting skills with roles in multiple dramas.

Before beginning filming, the actors have all been training in horseback riding, swordsmanship, and martial arts for the past four months. It sounds like this is a dedicated cast and crew!
