BTOB’s Eunkwang recently held a V Live app broadcast and informed fans to be cautious of their words.
On a webtoon he had read, Eunkwang expressed how frustrated he was at the plot and story. Fans commented in response and agreed with his opinion by saying “The plot gives me cancer,” a popular Korean phrase meant to express frustration.
Eunkwang noticed the comments and asked if fans can avoid saying the phrase. The BTOB member said, “The phrase is said all the time, but is really a bad phrase. Numerous people suffer from cancer. Let’s think about those people and try to refrain ourselves from using it. We can use other words that are better. It’s best to say, ‘It’s frustrating,’ or ‘It makes me angry.’ We need to use better terms to fix things little by little.” In short, Eunkwang hopes to shed some light on having consideration towards those directly and indirectly affected by cancer.
