After rumors yesterday that Hoya was leaving INFINITE, Woollim Entertainment has confirmed the news today.
On August 30th KST, the entertainment company announced that Hoya did not re-sign with the label. They stated he wanted to walk a different path in order to accomplish his dreams. As such, he would be leaving INFINITE and the company. They stated that they had decided to respect his decision and wished him the best.
The label went on to state that the group’s contracts had ended on June 9th, 2017, but Hoya needed more time to decide his future course. For this reason, they had not publicly addressed which members had already signed or not. After giving him plenty of time to think about his decision, he has chosen to withdraw.
A former trainee at JYP Entertainment, Hoya went on to debut as part of INFINITE on June 10th, 2010. After debuting with the group, he also became part of the sub-unit INFINITE H and went on to debut as an actor in 2012.
Meanwhile, INFINITE will be reorganizing as six members and continuing together.
We wish both Hoya and INFINITE the best of luck in the future!
