Billboard Korea is making a comeback!
Billboard has announced its relaunch of Billboard Korea with the aim of expanding their coverage of K-pop. The Korea branch will release music charts, as well as related news to meet the growing demand for K-pop related content.
Billboard Korea CEO Kim Jin Hee said, “The launch of Billboard Korea is undoubtedly the most exciting and important event in the Korean music industry. In the past, global K-pop fans have not had a lot of access to high-quality K-pop content through a major music media brand. With this relaunch, global K-pop fans will be able to consume more accurate and credible K-pop charts and have access to profound and professional news.”
Billboard also revealed plans to relaunch their K-pop Hot 100 Chart. Regarding the K-pop Hot 100 Chart, Silvio Pietroluongo, Vice President of Charts and Data Development, stated “It will be part of the influential and rapidly growing K-pop market. We expect to be a true measure of the most popular songs and artists in the Korean music industry through diverse contents such as reliable streaming and digital sales, album sales and broadcast charts.”
