On November 26th KST, the Blue Dragon Film Awards marked their 43rd annual ceremony at the Yeouido KBS Hall in Seoul! The event is presented by Sports Chosun to highlight the domestic film industry and to award excellence in the field. Through the years, it has grown to be one of the most respected awards shows in South Korea.
Actors Kim Hye Soo and Yoo Yeon Seok return for their fifth consecutive year as the event’s hosts. Meanwhile, ballad singer Jung Hoonhee teamed up with male crossover vocal group LA POEM to sing “Mist” from the movie, “Decision to Leave.”
K-pop acts added more zest to the evening with Zico performing “Any Song” and “New Thing” while IVE took to the stage with their hits “Love Dive” and “After Like.” Rookies NewJeans entertained the audience with “Hype Boy” and “Attention.”
The film “Decision to Leave” emerged as the big winner at this year’s event, bagging several major accolades for the project itself and its talents. It won a total of six awards: Best Film, Best Director, Best Music, Best Screenplay, Best Actor, and Best Actress.
The movie’s cast members Park Hae Il, Tang Wei, Lee Jung Hyun, Kim Shin Young, and Go Kyung Pyo all attended the ceremony while director Park Chanwook was unfortunately out of the country to film another project.
