Hello Kpop fans! Writer Min here— back for another segment on classic Kpop, where we look back at some of the greatest and most unforgettable songs of legendary Kpop artists!
This time, we’re focusing on the one and only S.E.S. They were the very first Kpop girl group in Korea to have such huge success and one of the first girl groups ever, aside from Fin.K.L and M.I.L.K.
S.E.S is named for its three members—Shoo, Eugene and Sea (also called Bada). The girl group was created in 1997 by SM Entertainment and was known as the counterpart of boy group H.O.T. Their anniversary just passed on the 1st of January, making it 20 years since they debuted. To celebrate, the girl group reunited for a comeback and showed they still have what it takes to be a great Kpop group!
Let’s take a look at some of the moments we’ve shared with the original Kpop fairies!
#10 – “I’m Your Girl”
I love this song so much! S.E.S and SM kept the song and dance simple, but it totally worked! I think this song brought out the sweet S.E.S we all know and love. Plus, listen to the amazing Shoo! Wow, she can hit those high notes with ease!
#9 – “Be Natural”
I love the song “Be Natural” since it’s just sassy and sexy. Recently, Red Velvet did a cover of the song, but these girls are just so groovy! Don’t you agree? The S.E.S members have a sound that is just pure and natural! Even though Red Velvet did a great job, no one can compare to the original fairies.

#8 – “Just A Feeling”
I love this song because you can tell the girls were growing as artists. It was the early 2000s at the time of this recording, and this was the time Kpop was on the rise and gaining interest worldwide. You can tell by the sound that SM was slowly improving their music and feel as well. In this MV, S.E.S showed us that they were no longer girls but young women.
#7 – “I Love You”
This song is so adorable! “I Love You” was one of the first debut songs of S.E.S. I love how they are in school uniforms and wedding dresses and looking totally fabulous! This was the second single that got S.E.S breaking records in Korea.
#6 – “Dreams Come True”
I just can’t stop thinking how adorable this song and music video is. The song makes you feel like a little girl with all the magic of the music and lyrics, and I love how the music video plays out as well. Dream do come true when you believe! This MV is so beautiful and adorable, and it will bring out your inner child.
#5 – “Love Story”
This is a truly remarkable music video dedicated to the fans. I love music videos like this! Whenever Kpop groups put together a collage of memories of how they grew together as artists, it’s always an emotional moment. There is something so special about seeing your favorite Kpop group grow over the years and achieve so much.
#4 – “Remember”
This song is so amazing! After a long time apart, S.E.S came back with this gorgeous, sweet song. The track “Remember” made many of their fans shed tears as their childhood idols gathered together again for the first time in almost 15 years. This first generation girl group can still make young men’s hearts flutter, regardless of how much time has passed by.
#3 – “Paradise”
S.E.S brought the ’90s back with “Paradise.” The song is groovy and fun, and anyone of any age can dance to it! I love how they all take part in the rap section as well. Meanwhile, Shoo’s voice is still as strong as ever and fully capable of hitting those high notes. With this video, fans saw that Eugene, Shoo and Bada never changed and are just as amazing as ever.
#2 – “Love”
I had to put this song in our Top 10 list! Because believe it or not, “Love” is still one of the most popular songs from S.E.S today. This song got a lot of love originally and continues to do so now. This song was pure and raw and definitely has to be on the list of the Top 10 greatest S.E.S songs ever!
#1 – “Oh My Love”
Our number one pick for this Top 10 list is “Oh My Love.” This song truly speaks for itself. It makes you feel like you’re back in middle school, meeting your first crush and shyly confessing. S.E.S makes us feel young and innocent again with this adorable song. Plus, look at Shoo and her cute face! Of course, Eugene and Bada looked adorable as well and continue to be so lovely even now.
S.E.S truly touched our hearts with their charms, and I am happy they are finally back after so long. They never really disbanded but took a break to do other things they loved. We saw them get married and make their own lives, and we saw them go on to achieve great things both together and on their own. Now that they are back together again, fans from all over the world can cherish the memories once more and relive their childhood with their favorite idols and one of the most legendary groups of all times— S.E.S.
