The SBS drama “Whisper” has brought in 16.0% of viewers ratings as of the first of May 2017, according to Nielsen Korea. The drama has been receiving a lot of love and support from the viewers due to its latest episode and unpredictable storyline.
On April 5th, the drama achieved 15% ratings for their first episode, allowing them to earn the top spot in ratings for all dramas currently airing on Mondays and Tuesdays. While it went down to 11.9% last week, it attained a 4.1% increase this week, making it the number one drama once more.
In the meantime, competitor drama MBC‘s “Rebel: Who Stole The People” achieved 13.1% and KBS‘s “The Perfect Wife” ranked 4.9 % in ratings.
“Whisper” is a legal-political drama with a romantic twist. It is directed by Lee Myung Woo and Park Hyun Soo, the same team behind the 2014 drama “Punch.”
Lee Dong-joon(Lee Sang Yoon) is a judge who makes a wrong verdict in a case involving Shin Young-joo’s father— a man falsely accused and put on trial. Shin Young-joo (Lee Bo Young) is a detective who seeks justice for her father and wants to take her revenge against Lee Dong-joon. Kang Joon-il (Kwon Yul) is a corporate lawyer in a corrupt law firm, and Choi Seo-yoon (Park Se Young) is the heiress of said law firm.
Lee Sang Yoon and Lee Bo Young have worked together in the drama 2013 drama “My Daughter Seo Young.” The two stars made such a great onscreen couple that many people were excited for their comeback together.
Meanwhile, Whisper has total of 16 episodes, airing on Mondays and Tuesdays at 10 p.m. KST.
