On August 16th, global group KATSEYE introduced their brand of music with their first mini-album, SIS (Soft Is Strong)!
The EP features five tracks in total including the team’s debut single “Debut” and the double title tracks “Touch” and “My Way.” “Touch” was pre-released back in July and became an online hit on social media platforms like TikTok.
The second title track “My Way” is a pop ballad and alternative-pop song that expresses KATSEYE’s unapologetic ambition to steer their path toward what they want to achieve and their desire to open up bold new eras.
The album embodies KATSEYE’s philosophy as a group as well as the bond between the six members whose diverse backgrounds, cultures, and languages come together to create a unique friendship.
KATSEYE was formed through the reality program “The Debut: Dream Academy,” a collaboration between Hybe UMG and Geffen Records. The show ran from September to November 2023 and aimed to create a group that would promote in the United States. The group’s final line-up consisted of Daniela, Lala, Manon, Megan, Sophia, and Yunchae.

Katherine grew up watching Korean dramas and other Asian shows. Although she first learned to appreciate Korean music through OSTs broadcasted locally, it wasn’t until 2011 that she properly paid attention to K-pop. She holds a fondness for SEVENTEEN and NCT and would recommend (G)I-DLE, Dreamcatcher, XG, and KISS OF LIFE to whoever cared to listen.
