On August 12th KST at 6 p.m. KST, NCT‘s Jaehyun thrilled fans with two digital singles and a music video featuring both songs ahead of his solo debut!
“Dandelion” is a fresh bright medium-tempo R&B track that features jazz-style instrumentation and a classic sound. Jaehyun himself participated in writing the Korean lyrics which envision dandelions blooming in the streets, invoking the feeling of child-like joy and nostalgia.
Meanwhile, “Roses” is a more emotional R&B song that delves into the rawness of longing for someone and the memories stirred up by the sight of roses. Jaehyun also participated in writing lyrics and composing the song.
Both songs share a similar concept of flowers, the memories that they hold, and the emotions associated with them however, their contrasting musicality display different sides of Jaehyun as a singer.
NCT’s Jung Jaehyun will launch his first solo album called J on August 26th at 6 p.m. KST featuring eight tracks including “Roses” and “Dandelion.” Its title track “Smoke” is confirmed to have Korean and English versions showcased in the EP.
