Korean-American actor Ki Hong Lee, star of the “Maze Runner” series, is set to make an appearance in the Korean film The Mayor (originally titled Special Citizen). The film focuses on the hidden side of politics as Byun Jong Gu, portrayed by Choi Min Sik, runs for re-election for the third time as Mayor of Seoul. Remaining cast for the film, directed by Park In Je, includes Kwak Do Won, Shim Eun Kyung, Moon So Ri, and Ra Mi Ran.
Ki Hong Lee will play the role of Steve, son of Yang Jin Joo (portrayed by Ra Mi Ran), another election candidate.
When asked why he decided to join the film, the actor expressed his desire to work with Choi Min Sik, one of South Korea’s most well-respected actors, noting there is a lot to learn from veterans like him and Ra Mi Ran.
The Mayor is set to be released in South Korea on April 26th.
