NCT 127 is stepping back into the scene with their sixth full-length album WALK on July 15th at 6 p.m. KST!
“Walk” has a 2000s-inspired hip-hop feel and resident cool vibe with NCT 127’s laid-back vocals. The song contains elements including a boom-bap beat, retro guitar riffs, and synth sounds.
The lyrics, penned by Korean rapper WUTAN, express the group’s confidence to move forward without following anyone else’s path while walking in their own style. Meanwhile, a collaboration of musicians and producers consisting of Landon Sears, Manifest, L8kshor, Jonathan Hoskins, and MZMC composed the track.
NCT 127’s “Walk” music video presents a different charm as it features a dynamic performance from the group. It also shows the members coolly and cheerfully roaming the streets in unexpected places and confusing situations.
Member Taeil — who is currently recovering from an injury and therefore unable to dance — is still very present in the music video and has substantial screentime for the fans to enjoy.
The sixth album WALK is made up of 11 songs spanning various genres presented in NCT 127’s distinctive style while remaining one of the group’s most cohesive records to date.
Fans of leader Taeyong, who is currently completing his military service, will be happy to hear his voice on every track. Although absent from the music video version of “Walk,” the rapper participated in the recording of the entire album before enlisting back in April.
