(G)I-DLE is back with their seventh mini-album I SWAY and the music video for their latest title track called “Klaxon” on July 8th at 6 p.m. KST!
“Klaxon” is an addictive summer flirting song in (G)I-DLE’s representative style that contains cool strings, brass sounds, groovy bass, and a rhythmic guitar sound. The chorus conveys a stylish Y2K vibe which features a car horn and the retro word “Klaxon.”
Leader Soyeon participated in creating the track as the sole songwriter, in addition to composing and arranging with producers Pop Time, Daily, and Likey. The catchy melody and witty lyrics boldly express the feelings of someone in love.
The music video is full of summer fashion as the members perform choreography on top of cars stuck in traffic and in the middle of a pedestrian crossing. The point dance sees the girls rhythmically extend their arms to the sides and move them in waves which is akin to Hula Dance movements.
(G)I-DLE started 2024 by releasing their second full album 2 in January, while member Yuqi released her first mini-album YUQ1 in April. Then in May, the group headlined the “Head In The Clouds” music festival in New York, before announcing their own 2024 [iDOL] World Tour. Furthermore, Minnie starred in the music video for Thai singer TYTAN‘s latest song “YOBO.”
I SWAY serves up four brand new songs from (G)I-DLE. Members Miyeon, Minnie, and Yuqi followed their leader by participating in writing and composing, once again living up to the group’s self-producing idol status.
