It’s been two years since Nayeon of TWICE made her solo debut! On June 14th at 1 p.m. KST, the singer released the follow-up of her second mini-album, NA.
The title track “ABCD” is a pop dance song full of Nayeon’s charm as she promises to seduce a man who is her type by telling him everything about love from A to Z. Reminiscent of the pop divas of the early 2000s, it contains hip-hop and modern elements, matched with the powerful rhythm and suspenseful arrangement changes.
Lyrics, the witty use of the alphabet relays her confidence to teach someone her type about love as an act of seduction. “ABCD” was written by Rick Bridges and JYP Entertainment‘s representative producer Park Jin Young, and composed by a team of leading producers including Big Hit Music‘s Pdogg and GHSTLOOP, as well as musicians Aron Bergerwall, Louise Lindberg, and Shorelle.
The music video for “ABCD” shows Nayeon’s bold and unique attempts to showcase her wild and dynamic persona, capturing the attention of everyone she meets in the process. Adding a special touch is the dance break which can only be found in the music video.
Nayeon’s second mini album NA contains seven songs featuring KISS OF LIFE‘s Julie, Sam Kim, and Lee Chanhyuk of AKMU. Additionally, the latter two artists both took part in producing their respective features with Sam Kim participating in writing and composing on “Heaven” and Chanhyuk as the sole writer and co-composer for “HalliGalli,” alongside YG Entertainment producer LP.
