Ahead of his third solo mini-album BLOSSOM on May 7th KST, Doh Kyung Soo (D.O) has dropped a pre-release single “Popcorn” on April 30th at 6 p.m. KST.
The bubbly song features the EXO vocalist’s distinctive voice and warm music sense with lyrics that compare the excitement of loving someone to popcorn. The song was penned by seasoned K-pop lyricist Lee Seuran and composed by Joe Harvey, Jack Harvey, Ryan Bickley, and TMM. The latter has worked on several other tracks on the upcoming mini-album.
Meanwhile, the music video sees Kyung Soo thoroughly enjoying himself in a world that is filling up with popcorn. It’s a quirky and fun concept made all the more entertaining thanks to D.O’s sincere performance.
“Popcorn” marks the first release from Kyung Soo since departing SM Entertainment and joining Company SooSoo, an agency established by the artist’s longtime manager. D.O remains a member of EXO whose group activities will still be handled by SM.
