Crossover men’s quartet LA POEM continues to hold onto their “vocal avengers” status!
Brand new single album MIRROR and the music video for the title track of the same name were released on April 24th at 6 p.m. KST.
“Mirror” features a stylish deep house-based beat, an addictive chorus, and delicate vocal changes in the style of LA POEM. The lyrics written by hitmaker Seo Ji Eum compare a dangerous challenge to a labyrinth made of mirrors and depict a precarious man lost and wandering in it.
Norwegian composers Anders Nilsen, Iselin Solheim, and Andre Jensen (famous for their work on IVE‘s “After Like”) composed “Mirror” alongside Norwegian singer-songwriter Jesper Jenset.
The second title song “Rose” was written by Brother Su and Kim Jina, the latter talent also composing the R&B-based pop song. The pair worked with LA POEM on their 2023 track “Anchor.”
LA POEM was formed on the JTBC audition program “Phantom Singer 3,” and is composed of four classically-trained singers You Chaehoon, Choi Sunghoon, Jeong Minseong, and Park Kihun.
Each member’s unique and impressive vocal abilities allow them to crossover into different genres by performing everything from pop to opera, a skill that informs the group’s distinct musical style.
