KISS OF LIFE returns on April 3rd at 6 p.m. KST with a first single album and a music video for its title track, “Midas Touch!”
The song has a nostalgic 2000s mainstream pop sound with lyrics that warn about their enthralling charisma that entangles people instantly and describes the moment of falling in love. It was penned by Mia (KOR), Ondine, Samson, Strawberrybananaclub, and Cho Yun Kyoung.
Midas Touch is KISS OF LIFE’s first single album and features the theme of “love.” It contains a title track of the same name and a B-Side track called “Nothing.” “Nothing” is an R&B piece reminiscent of medium-tempo 2000s sounds that tells the story of someone realizing that they have fallen out of love.
KISS OF LIFE is a four-member group composed of Natty, Belle, Julie, and Haneul. While Haneul is a newcomer to the industry, the rest of the group already had some experience with its workings.
Natty was a prominent contestant in idol trainee survival shows “Sixteen” and “Idol School” from where TWICE and Fromis 9 were formed. Belle is the child of Korean veteran singer Shim Shin. She is an accomplished songwriter in her own right who worked with SM Entertainment, Le Sserafim, Purple Kiss, (G)I-DLE‘s Miyeon, and more. Julie was a former The Black Label (a sub-label of YG Entertainment) trainee from 2017 to 2020.
They debuted under S2 ENTERTAINMENT in July 2023 with the mini-album, Kiss of Life. With only two mini-albums under their belt, the group swept into the limelight with a 100-million stream record (foreign and local numbers combined) and year-end awards like the Rookie Award, Global Icon Award, New Wave Star Award, and New Artist Generation Award.

Katherine grew up watching Korean dramas and other Asian shows. Although she first learned to appreciate Korean music through OSTs broadcasted locally, it wasn’t until 2011 that she properly paid attention to K-pop. She holds a fondness for SEVENTEEN and NCT and would recommend (G)I-DLE, Dreamcatcher, and XG to whoever cared to listen. She reads just about anything and is currently easing back into full novels.
