NCT vocalist Taeil recently released “Wave” as part of the “Captivating the King” OST. Now, on March 12th at 6 p.m. KST, he is back with a remake of the classic K-ballad “Weird,” also known as “It’s Strange, With You.” The song is part of a special collaboration project by songwriter and producer Shim Hyun Bo.
About Love: His And Her Love Stories celebrates the musician’s 25th anniversary by remaking his beloved hits and lyrics in a new way, through collaborations with colleagues and junior artists.
Taeil is said to have received a lot of praise from officials involved in the project for excellently expressing the complex emotions of the song with his delicate sensibility and vocal skills during the recording session.
“Weird” was originally released in 2014 by the duo The Ade (who were formerly known as Acoustic Collabo). It has been loved by many for its lyrics that delicately capture the complex and subtle moments of love. This song is a well-known staple that has stayed on the charts for a long time and was used in the drama “Discovery Of Love.”
While the original version told the female perspective of the love story, Taeil’s version is about the male perspective. The new rendition of the song is also enriched with a simple acoustic guitar, piano, and a 14-member string arrangement.
The sensuous music video was filmed in Melbourne, Australia, and stars actors Lee Sehan and Lee Jinha. The pair have previously appeared opposite each other as male and female leads in Park Won’s “all of my life” and Jung Seung Hwan’s “The Snowman” music videos.
