On January 15th at 6 p.m. KST, aespa released their unique take on Seo Taiji and Boys‘ “Regret of the Times!”
The alternative rock song was originally released in 1996 and has intense lyrics that are amplified by strong band sounds. aespa’s version features Karina and BewhY‘s participation in rap-making in addition to the lines penned by Seo Taiji, no2zcat, Kim Green Tea, and Kriz.
Seo Taiji’s “Regret of the Times” has previously released a remastered version on January 12th KST as part of SMTOWN and YouTube’s “SM Remastering Project.” The collaboration between SMTOWN and YouTube began in 2021 “to reexamine the history of K-pop and contribute to the growth of the Korean music industry.” Over 300 music videos and songs are included in this project.
Meanwhile, aespa’s “Regret of the Times (2024 aespa Remake Ver.) is part of SM STATION, a digital music project by SMTOWN. It began in 2016 and explores genres and collaborations featuring SM artists.
