On January 3rd at 6 p.m. KST, Kim Jonghyeon released his second EP along with a music video for its title track, “MOTTO!”
According to his agency, the song contains the emotions that coursed through the singer over the past ten years and his determination to approach music with a positive mindset. “MOTTO” has a Jersey Club beat base with rhythmic drum kicks and guitar sounds. Lee Jieun penned the lyrics while OLLIPOP and Ryan Lawrie composed the melody. With this song, Kim Jonghyeon aims to enjoy every moment and treat the world as his stage in the future.
Kim Jonghyeon’s second mini-album Brilliant Seasons has six songs in total. The EP reflects on his life’s similarities to the seasons, noting that life does not always have warm clear weather. He also expressed that even if rain, wind, and thunder come, “everything ultimately makes life brilliant” and we will always find a rainbow after it all.
Kim Jonghyeon himself actively participated in writing and composing the songs and even contributed to the choreography for his comeback.
