On October 4th at 6 p.m. KST, EPEX made a comeback with their latest mini-album along with a music video for its title track, “FULL METAL JACKET!”

Penned by danke (lalala studio), the explosive song delves into the tragic aspects of school violence and raises awareness of the consequences of losing one’s humanity. It was composed by KZ, Taeyoung Kim, Jihwan Byun, Albin Nordqvist, and Gabriel Brandes.

EPEX’s sixth EP Prelude of Anxiety Chapter 2. “Can We Surrender?” features four songs and serves as the final chapter of their “Prelude of Anxiety” series.”

While the previous albums featured the concepts of anxiety over adolescence and the beginnings of love, this EP discusses the factors that lead the boys to consider surrender such as school violence, limitations of growth, and their stories of frustration.

Despite the darkness and instability that threaten to pull them down, EPEX also considers the glimmers of hope that they find along the way.

Katherine grew up watching Korean dramas and other Asian shows. Although she first learned to appreciate Korean music through OSTs broadcasted locally, it wasn’t until 2011 that she properly paid attention to K-pop. She holds a fondness for SEVENTEEN and NCT and would recommend (G)I-DLE, Dreamcatcher, and XG to whoever cared to listen. She reads just about anything and is currently easing back into full novels.
