On April 9th, NCT DREAM finally brought their highly anticipated concert to Atlanta with a show at the State Farm Arena! Fans had been eagerly waiting for the group to come to the city for some time now. After initial worries over the poor weather during the weekend, luck was in their favor as the conditions cleared up just in time for NCT DREAM to deliver a memorable show.
WTK was thrilled to have a staff member attend one of the most anticipated K-pop concerts of the season and review various aspects of the event including the venue, the setlist, the interactions, the notable NCT DREAM tracks, and the overall impression of the concert.
The concert began with some technical issues on the Jumbotron but it didn’t deter the excitement of the crowd. NCT DREAM kicked off the show in neo-styled clothes, performing “Glitch Mode” and two other songs. The next section featured the members wearing outfits that gave off a fresh youthful vibe, perfectly suited for a spring concert.
The Atlanta crowd filled the arena with their loud screams and in the midst of the enthusiasm, NCT DREAM took a moment to wish everyone a happy Easter. The members then entertained the audience with their sweet fanservice and playful interactions on stage.
One standout performance was “Sorry My Heart” which showcased their beautiful vocals through soaring melodies and soulful harmonies that touched everyone’s hearts with their healing sound.
The concert was divided into sections, each with its own theme. Section One featured hit songs with high energy, Section Two revolved around a dream/sleep theme, Section Three explored themes of love and heartbreak, and Section Four brought back upbeat fan-favorite classics and older songs.
Section Five showcased “HOT” by the rap unit before sending the crowd into a frenzy with a sultry dance performance inside lit see-through boxes during “Quiet Down.” The choreography included extra risqué moves not commonly seen with the group, the members usually preferring an upbeat boyish vibe for their stages, which was welcomed by excited fans
In Section Six, NCT DREAM delivered the finale with its latest high-energy songs. Leader Mark was notably given a part in “Ridin,” a song that was released in his absence, which was warmly welcomed by the fans.
For the encore, the atmosphere became a little more subdued and intimate as NCT DREAM expressed their appreciation for each other and their fans through heartfelt love songs. The ending talk was accompanied by whistles from the audience and all the members joined hands on stage, creating a powerful resonance theme.
During the concert, a break was added for the “grass wave,” an interactive moment where fans participate by following instructions accompanied by cute emojis on the huge LED screens on stage. Additionally, sweet and witty signboards captured by the tech staff’s cameras were shared with everyone much to the delight of the crowd.
NCT DREAM’s fan cam captured the creativity and authenticity of the audience’s love and the interaction stood out as a warm expression of appreciation for fans and is a feature also present in their other concerts including NCT 127‘s.
Overall, the NCT DREAM Atlanta concert left a strong positive impression. The group’s talented performance, the engaging fan interactions, and the diverse setlist all highlighted their artistry and their ability to fully captivate the crowd. Despite some technical issues, the concert effectively showcased both NCT DREAM’s youthful and mature charms, solidifying their position as seasoned artists.
