On May 10th at 12 a.m. KST, (G)I-DLE dropped a music video for one of their B-side tracks, “Allergy”!
The song, written by leader Soyeon, sings about learning to love yourself as you are and resenting the fact that you still find yourself comparing yourself to others. Its music video is inspired by the rom-com movies that came out in the early 2000s and tackles the issue of how social media sets unrealistic expectations that gradually eats through someone’s self-worth.
I feel marks the team’s sixth mini-album and features the concept of cultivating confidence as well as embracing this newfound self-esteem. (G)I-DLE debuted as a six-member group in 2018 and previously returned with the feisty title track “Nxde” in October 2022.
