On March 14th at 6 p.m. KST, Cube Entertainment‘s signature girl group (G)I-DLE returned with their first studio album and a music video for its lead track, “TOMBOY.”
A pop rock piece which showcases yet another transformation by the group, it exudes a confident spitfire attitude that blatantly looks down on being forced into a more submissive role. Jeon Soyeon, who has consistently produced music for (G)I-DLE and many other artists, wrote the lyrics for their title song and worked alongside Pop Time and JENCI to compose the music.
I NEVER DIE is the team’s first studio album and their first comeback as five following Soojin‘s departure from the group last August 2021. Members Yuqi and Minnie took part in writing and composing for the collections’s B-side tracks. (G)I-DLE previously released “HWAA” in January 2021 and “Last Dance” under UNIVERSE Music in April that same year.
