AleXa is back at it again with another breakout release titled “Tattoo” on January 6th KST!
The special single, which is completely sung in English, takes apart the layers of heartbreak and sets the story against a bass-laced rhythmic background. It deviates from the singer’s past hard-hitting upbeat releases, instead choosing to walk down a more vulnerable direction about experiencing loss and longing.
According to Kim Junhong, CEO of ZB Label, “TATTOO’ expresses the confusion instead of AleXa as an A.I., where the human emotion of love has been engraved inside of AleXa like a tattoo. Compared to previous singles, the song gives listeners an emotional stimulation with its delicate storyline and lyrics, adding even more to the AleXa A.I. universe. We decided to release the English version first to preserve the original meaning of ‘TATTOO,’ and leave the Korean version open for the future.”
“Tattoo” is coupled with a music video that stays true to the singer’s multiverse artificial intelligence concept and shows her significantly troubled by an encounter with a mysterious figure that sports a familiar tattoo. It was partially filmed in California right after AleXa performed the National Anthem for the LA Dodgers in 2021 where 50,000 people came to watch.
