On September 7th at 6 p.m. KST, Super Junior‘s Sungmin returned with a solo digital track and music video entitled “Goodnight, Summer.”
The R&B pop song (written by Doo Jin Soo, Ecobridge, Hickee, and Maxx Song) gently urges the listener to let themselves breathe and take a break from all of the things that trouble them. Its music video shows an exhausted Sungmin, dreaming of a carefree escape where he happily enjoys summer at a refreshing beach. Goodnight, Summer also features a B-side track called “Blooming” which was pre-released on August 30th KST.
In a statement by Sungmin to his agency, Label SJ, he expressed his excitement to greet fans after a long while and describes his latest title song as something with a vibe that he has not tried before. Thus, he worked hard and learned more, hoping that his new album will bring healing and relaxation to the listeners.
Sungmin previously released a digital single called “Day Dream” under SM STATION in 2018 and dropped his mini-album, Orgel, back in November 2019. He is currently active on his YouTube channel, “LIUstudio 리우.”
