On September 3rd at 6 p.m. KST, LOONA‘s Heejin, Kim Lip, Jinsoul, and Yves took centerstage in a music video for “Not Friends.”
The song combines sounds from pop, acoustic rock, and hip-hop while carrying a statement of wanting to blur the lines between friends and cross over to become something more. Member Kim Lip participated in writing the lyrics alongside YOUNHA, Ryan Jhun, Michell Buzz, Myah Marie, and Tido.
“Not Friends” is the second installment of the “MAXIS by Ryan Jhun” project following NCT‘s Doyoung and Haechan‘s “Maniac” back in August. Ryan Jhun is a prominent K-pop producer who has worked on many hits for a variety of artists including IU, Super Junior, EXO, Girls’ Generation, NCT, and more. He has also produced songs for LOONA like “PTT (Paint The Town).”
