Kang Insoo, lead vocalist of idol group MYNAME has released his first digital single “Love Yourself” on August 8th at 12 p.m. KST.
The song contains a desire to comfort people from the hurt and burdens they experience throughout their lives, hoping that everyone can love themselves fully. The medium-tempo pop track highlights Insoo’s sweet voice and appealing tone over a melodic guitar riff.
The singer participated in writing and composing the song, alongside Mirror BOY, D.ham, and Moon Hanmiru from production team 220VOLT. who has previously worked with MYNAME as well as groups such as GOT7 and ASTRO.
“Love Yourself” marks Insoo’s first solo release in Korea despite debuting as a soloist in Japan with mini-album NAKED in 2017 prior to enlistment. He has signed to company iMe Korea and has been working as an actor in popular BL dramas “Wish You: Your Melody From My Heart” opposite IMFACT’s Lee Sang and Nobleman Ryu’s Wedding alongside Lee Sejin (“Mr. Heart”) and Jang Euisoo (“Where Your Eyes Linger”)
Insoo also runs his own YouTube channel “KyangInsoo” where he regularly posts a variety of content including vlogs, behind the scenes videos with co-stars, and workout videos. The latter showcases how the singer maintains his incredible physique which landed him on the cover of Men’s Health magazine twice, making Insoo the first of any male star to do so.
