Play M Entertainment girl group Weeekly has returned on August 4th at 6 p.m. KST with their fourth mini-album Play Game : Holiday and the title track “Holiday Party.”
The special healing song for summer is an uptempo pop dance track which features a unique Vox riff and 808 bass with an impressively catchy melody and groovy beat.
Lyrically, the song expresses the joy of a holiday party and spending time with the people you love without any interruptions. It was written by former Jam Factory producer Lee Seuran whose production credits includes many notable names from the K-pop world.
The composition and arrangement is the work of producing duo Coach & Sendo, known for their EDM contributions that include SHINee’s “Everybody” among others. Additionally participating in the composition is Cazzi Opeia and Ellen Berg of Swedish songwriting duo Sunshine who have worked on songs from Red Velvet, BTS, ITZY, TWICE, and more.
Despite only debuting in June last year, the seven-member girl group have been making an impact both domestically and abroad. Their popular hit song “After School” was featured on Time Magazine’s “Best K-Pop Songs of 2021 So Far” list while the current release Play Game : Holiday appeared on Forbes’ “Most-Anticipated K-Pop Girl Group Releases” this month.
Weeekly will be promoting their fourth mini-album as six members as member Jiyoon has temporarily halted activities due to symptoms of anxiety. Fortunately, she was able to participate in the music video and album which are to satisfy fans who are cheering for her recovery and awaited return.
