Directed by award-winning director Ryoo Seung Wan (known for works such as ”Veteran,” “The Battleship Island,” and “The Unjust”), ”Escape from Mogadishu” is an upcoming action drama movie.
The film is based on real events from 1991 when officials from the North and South Korean embassies helped each other escape from Mogadishu, Somalia during the civil war.
Kim Yoon Seok plays the role of Han Sin Seong, the South Korean ambassador assigned to Somalia. Meanwhile, Jo In Sung plays Kang Dae Jin, a counselor for the North Korean Embassy. Other main casts include Heo Joon Ho (“The Merciless”), Kim So Jin (”The King”), Koo Kyo Hwan (“The Peninsula”), Jung Man Sik (“Rampant”), and Kim Jae Hwa (“Pawn”).
”Escape from Mogadishu” premieres on July 28th KST in local cinemas.
