On June 9th at 6 p.m. KST, four months after their previous release, OUI Entertainment boy group WEi returned with the final chapter of their Identity album series
Identity: Action is the group’s third mini-album and marks the end of the trilogy that has been unfolding since their debut in October 2020 with Identity: First Sight and Identity: Challenge.
The lead single “Bye Bye Bye” is a song that radiates a youthful spirit and talks about wanting to escape the worries that weigh you down. It contains a message of courage and freedom to leave everything behind in order to find your true self. Identity: Action has a total of five tracks and spans a variety of different genres from pop ballads to hip-hop.
WEi members Jang Daehyeon (formerly of RAINZ), Yoo Yongha (formerly of 1the9), and Kim Yohan (formerly of X1) participated in the rap-making for the song. The refreshing beat, combined with an addictive hook and melody, shows WEi’s flourishing growth as a powerful fourth generation performance group.
The music video was directed by Lee Gibeck of well-known video production company Tiger Cave and features choreography by Choi Youngjoon who has created dances for groups such as SEVENTEEN, TWICE and MONSTA X.
