WATCH: KARD’s BM Tries To Fix “Broken Me” In Solo MV

Making his solo debut on June 9th at 6 p.m. KST, BM of co-ed group KARD released the personal, raw, and empowered track, “Broken Me.”

The song’s intense beat combined with hip-hop and modern rock was composed by BM, Isaac Han, Ghostchild LTD, and Aaron Kim. Meanwhile, the relatable and brutally honest lyrics about fighting inner demons were penned solely by BM. “Broken Me” is a collaboration between production house 8PEX Company and KARD’s agency DSP Media

Speaking about the lyrics, BM said:

“’Broken me’ comes from personal experience of when I was a trainee. I started my trainee days late and while all my friends were graduating college and moving on to their big boy big girl jobs, I was still borrowing money from my parents living alone in Korea worried and anxious about the future. I went through a lot of depression and anxiety because I was 25 jobless and felt like I didn’t have enough skills or experience to become successful. ‘Broken me’ is about going through those internal struggles and letting you know that you can bring yourself out of it with time and hope.”

The music video starring Park Eunseok and BM makes use of impressive digital production technology and film-making techniques. It was created by Vive Studios using CGI and the team’s virtual production solution, VIT (Vivestudios Immersive Technology), which is the first of its kind in South Korea.

BM also participated in Vive Studios’ short film, “The Brave New World,” which was shot using the same technology and features “Broken Me” as part of its OST.
